  22. NOTES ON NOTATION:
  23. I have attempted to indicate note duration by following a note with
  24. spaces that extend as long as the note should ring. Bass notes and
  25. eighth notes I did not bother to indicate duration with the spaces,
  26. as they are very frequent and easy to understand.
  27. The length of held notes in music of this type is an approximation at
  28. best and of course is open to interpretation by the performer.
